Biography

Helen Jordan (BSc.(Hons), GradDipEpi/Biostats, DipEd) has extensive experience in health program evaluation practice and teaching. She has provided training, support and advice; and developed a number of reports in public health planning, practice and evaluation to Local Government, Divisions of General Practice and the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.

Helen is a lecturer and trainer of health program evaluation, teaching both accredited postgraduate and professional short courses both face-to-face and by distance education. Helen has taught public health policy makers in the Department of Health and Ageing, through the DoHA Postgraduate and short-course programs, and large number of public health practitioners across Australia who have attended CHPPE’s short-courses. These courses are held at CHPPE or at workplaces across Australia (See CHPPE’s Short Course Program under ‘Teaching’ and ‘Courses’).

Helen has developed distance-education learning modules in Environmental Health Services Evaluation, and coordinates and teaches the postgraduate subject within the Masters of Public Health and Masters of Environment programs at The University of Melbourne.

Helen has interests in epidemiology and the evaluation of public health programs that include environmental health programs, workforce planning, public health planning, program logic, evaluation frameworks and indicator development.
