Biography

Fay's background is in teaching in schools as well as the adult education sectors. As a teacher of adults, she has a full appreciation of how services are structured to prohibit or facilitate access. She has a Doctorate of Education (DED) from Melbourne University. Her thesis (completed in 2003) was entitled, 'Encouraging the Use of Evaluation Recommendations: A Case Study in a Division of General Medical Practice'. She examined the use of recommendations from previously commissioned evaluations by committees in the field of general medical practice.

She has focussed on the ways in which the findings of evaluations are used to bring about organisational and structural change. She has expertise in change management and feels this is a useful skill within an organisation for looking at the utilisation of evidence and how it can be used to inform, review and develop practice.

She is currently employed in the CHPPE as a Research Fellow for the Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care (BOiMHC) initiative, providing evaluation support to Divisions of General Practice.
