Biography

Danielle Newton is a research psychologist who has been involved in a variety of health-related projects in areas such as sexual health, adolescent health, intellectual disability, sexuality, disordered eating, and depression. Her main research interest is sexual health and her PhD, completed in 2005, investigated the psychological and psychosexual impact of sexually transmitted infections on individuals and their intimate relationships.

She is currently employed as a Research Fellow on a Victorian Department of Human Services funded project led by Dr Jane Hocking. Using a variety of research methods, this project aims to assess the impact of chlamydia on the sexual, reproductive, and mental health of Victorians and their health care system.
