| Biography |
Shaun is Acting Director of the Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit, the Deputy Director of the Centre for Health and Society, and the inaugural Associate Dean (Indigenous Development) . He has a clinical background in Physiotherapy, and postgraduate degree Political Science and International Relations.
Key roles include the development and delivery of Indigenous Health content into the Medical and other health science courses, including Master of Public Health and Master of Health Social Science.
Shaun has supervised students in areas such as Aboriginal Health, rural health, the ethics of intervention in military conflict situations, the role of the medical profession in Chilean politics, and constructions and meanings of displacement for refugees in Australia.
Shaun was awarded the School of Population Health Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning in 2005, led the successful Onemda team for Norman Curry Award for Innovation and Excellence in Education Programs in 2010, the LIME team for the Melbourne School of Population Health Award for Excellence in Knowledge Transfer in 2010, and also the Rio Tinto award for Excellence and Innovation in Indigenous Higher Education in 2011.
