Biography

Dr Giuliana Fuscaldo is a Lecturer in Health Ethics at the CHS who has been involved for many years in medical ethics teaching. She is currently coordinates postgraduate subjects in ethics and research methods, and supervising AMS and Masters students.

Giuliana’s background is in reproductive technology. She worked for nearly ten years as a clinical scientist and researcher in a Melbourne IVF clinic. She has completed a Masters of Bioethics at Monash University and a PhD at the University of Melbourne on ethical issues arising from advances in reproductive technologies.

Her research interests include the ethical issues arising from embryo and gamete donation and decisions about surplus frozen human embryos. She is also interested in research ethics, improving ethics teaching, cross-cultural understandings of ethics and the role of Human Research Ethics Committees. Giuliana is a member of several ethics committees.
