Biography

Deb Knoche is a research assistant to Professor Ian Anderson, Director of Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit and the research Director for the Cooperative Research Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health. This position supports and assists Professor Anderson in his research and academic activities, primarily in the area of Aboriginal health policy and systems.

Deb has worked as a Project Officer for the Medical Deans of Australia and New Zealand Indigenous Health Project, supporting medical schools in implementing, monitoring and sustaining a nationally agreed Indigenous health curriculum framework. She has also worked as an anthropologist in the area of Native Title in the Northern Territory.

Deb has a Master degree in public policy and management and a Honours degree in Anthropology. Her research interests are: applied anthropology, Aboriginal health policy, Indigenous health in medical education.
